ZAGREB, Nov 10 (Hina) - In the first nine months of 2003, 8.24 million tourists visited Croatia, accounting for 44.78 million overnight stays, which is a six percent increase in tourist arrivals and a four percent increase in
overnight stays compared to last year, the Central Bureau of Statistics has said.

million tourists visited Croatia, accounting for 44.78 million
overnight stays, which is a six percent increase in tourist
arrivals and a four percent increase in overnight stays compared to

Foreign tourists accounted for most arrivals, or 7.03 million,
which is a six percent increase in relation to last year. They
accounted for 89.5 percent or 40.06 million of all overnight stays,
which is a four percent increase.
There were 1.2 million or seven percent more domestic arrivals,
accounting for 4.72 million overnight stays, which is an increase
of six percent.
Germans accounted for most (26.4 percent) overnight stays. They are
followed by Italians (13 percent) and Slovenes (12.9 percent).
This September alone, 890,470 tourists visited Croatia, which is an
increase of six percent in relation to last year. September saw 4.6
million overnight stays, an increase of two percent compared to
last year's September.
