leaders of political parties ahead of parliamentary elections in
Croatia.
Sanader presented basic elements of his party's election platform,
highlighting cooperation with the European Union, the HDZ said in a
statement.
Sanader said the HDZ was fully determined to make every effort to
ensure Croatia's admission into the EU and NATO as soon as possible,
adding that his party was aware of the commitments Croatia faced in
achieving this goal.
The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of EU countries
accredited to Zagreb and the head of the EU delegation.
Earlier on Thursday, the HDZ president received Giancarlo Galan,
president of the Italian province of Veneto. The two officials
discussed issues of economic interest to Croatia and the Veneto
region, the statement said.
