ZAGREB, Oct 16 (Hina) - The leading Croatian insurance company 'Croatia osiguranje' and Macedonia's 'Vardar osiguranje' on Thursday signed a contract on establishing a joint insurance company in Macedonia.

The new company, called 'Croatia Vardar', has its main offices in
Skopje and will start operating on 1 January 2004.
The Croatian company will hold 70 percent of the stock, and the rest
will be owned by 'Vardar osiguranje'.
The equity capital of the new firm will be one million euro.
According to Croatia osiguranje, this move is the continuation of
expansion of its business in the region.
