ZAGREB, Sept 30 (Hina) - Italy sees Croatia as part of a united Europe, Italian Minister for Europe Rocco Buttiglione said in Zagreb on Tuesday after talks with Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Simonovic, the foreign ministry
said in a statement.

Buttiglione spoke about the friendly and good neighbourly
relations between Italy and Croatia and Croatia's role in the
region.
Simonovic pointed to the need to discuss as part of a debate on the
European constitution which mechanisms will be used to secure
future EU members a place in European institutions.
He informed the Italian official about the joint initiative of
Croatia, Serbia-Montenegro, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, which should
facilitate the return and integration of refugees, and pointed to
the importance of the EU's support in the process, the statement
said.
