In talks with Zadar County prefect Sime Prtenjaca, Semneby said
Croatia's integration into the European Union constituted a big
chance to build an integrated, harmonic society with which all
Croatian citizens, regardless of nationality, could identify.
Semneby appealed to local and state leaders to tell their
communities that refugee returns were not a threat.
At Prtenjaca's invitation, he visited the Zadar hinterland, one of
the hardest hit areas during the 1990s war, where he said that the
vision of Croatia in the EU all citizens shared would help in the
healing of war wounds.
