Ivo Banac, said on Tuesday this ruling coalition party would run in
coming parliamentary elections independently. #L#
Talking to reporters, he did not rule out the possibility of forming
coalitions with non-parliamentary parties and even some from the
current ruling coalition in some constituencies.
Banac said the LS would form a coalition with every of the incumbent
ruling parties if there was will among them to run in the election
with a uniform platform.
Speaking about the LS platform, Banac said his party believed the
state should be limited in its sphere and that individuals
themselves must create all conditions for social progress.
The LS objects to every form of state violence over citizens,
manipulation of secret services, and the state's excessive
interference into the economy, Banac said.
Commenting on Croatian Democratic Union president Ivo Sanader's
claims that his phones were tapped, Banac said there was no
information that this was correct. He added that LS members were not
tapping anybody's phones nor had the possibility to do so, and
stressed that wiretapping must be condemned.
