"It is no secret that the SDP and the HSS, that is, their services,
have been tapping both the opposition's and journalists' phones,"
the head of the biggest opposition party said in an interview with
Monday's issue of "Jutarnji list" daily.
Asked whether his phone was being tapped, he answered in the
affirmative, adding that the two parties were even tapping each
other's phones.
Sanader went on to say that there "is a headquarters in the SDP and
the HSS", as well as "an informal body", whose sole purpose was "the
defamation of senior HDZ officials".
Sanader said he knew who the members of that body were, but would not
give any details.
He also said that he would not request an investigation, as the
material and information obtained through tapping were destroyed
daily, leaving no trace of tapping.
