Clinton was welcomed at Pristina's Slatina airport by numerous
citizens as well as Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova and the head of
the United States Office in Pristina, Marcie Ries.
Upon arrival, Clinton said it was a great honour to come back to
Kosovo and see that many things had changed.
This is his second visit to the province after November 1999, when
he visited American troops stationed there.
Rugova told reporters "a great friend of Kosovo's is coming,
someone who has done a lot for Kosovo".
Responding to questions from reporters, Rugova said he would ask of
Clinton to continue assisting Kosovo, notably in gaining
independence.
After receiving the honorary doctorate, the former U.S. president
is expected to make an address for representatives of Kosovo
institutions, students and professors.
