The Bulgarian PM arrived in Croatia on Tuesday for a two-day working
visit. He attended the opening of the Zagreb International Autumn
Fair at which Bulgaria is partner country this year.
After the talks with his Bulgarian counterpart, Racan told
reporters that after the signing of a free trade agreement the two
countries' trade was heading in the desired direction.
Both prime ministers agreed there was room for the promotion of the
bilateral relations.
Croatia is happy about Bulgaria's success on its path to the EU,
said Racan, adding that Croatia was convinced Bulgaria would join
the union in 2007.
Racan expressed conviction that Bulgaria supported Croatia's
joining the EU.
The participation in the Zagreb Autumn fair as a partner country is
a great honour for Bulgaria, Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha said, expressing
satisfaction with the pace Croatia was drawing closer to the EU.
The meeting also focused on tourism and the possibility of
establishing a direct flight between Zagreb and Sofia.
Later today, the Bulgarian PM will meet Croatian President Stjepan
Mesic and parliament head Zlatko Tomcic. On the second day of his
stay in Croatia Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha will visit the southern
Adriatic city of Dubrovnik.
