"We won't ride on anyone's coat-tails or jump on others' electoral
slates," Rados said at a session of the Libra Council.
He added the party had talked with representatives of two parties
but that Libra was likeliest to run in the ballot alone, although it
would not close the door to anyone.
Speaking about the contribution of Libra representatives to
government performance, Rados said they had done the hardest jobs,
from cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal for the former
Yugoslavia to the launching of reforms in the defence and health
sectors.
Commenting on events over the past six weeks, Rados said too much
attention had been given to politically overblown issues, such as
bushfires, the external debt, and the proclamation of an economic
zone in the Adriatic Sea.
The stability of the budget is more important, he said, adding that
the exceeding of budgetary limits in the defence and interior
ministries, mainly for salaries, indicated the idea of cutting
public spending had been scrapped.
Libra will hold its first electoral convention on October 20.
