The organisers of the event are the Foreign Economic Relations
Board from Istanbul and the Institute for European Affairs from
Duesseldorf, the statement said.
The forum was launched in 2000 at the initiative of former Finnish
president Martti Ahtisaari, who is also the forum's honorary
president.
The previous three forums were held in Istanbul, Athens and
Stockholm.
At the forum, leading business people and politicians discuss
options, estimate expectations and define obstacles to the
development of international economic relations. This year's forum
will be joined by Italy and Croatia.
The Brijuni event, to be attended by business people and statesmen
from 22 countries, will focus on the establishment of dialogue
among EU member states and non-members to promote their
cooperation.
