MOSTAR/LJUBUSKI, Sept 5 (Hina) - Police have seized 87 boxes of grenades and explosives in the village of Cerno near Ljubuski in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina, the cantonal ministry of the interior said in a statement on Friday.

This is the largest amount of weapons seized in Herzegovina since
the spring of 2002 when NATO-led Stabilisation Force (SFOR) troops
discovered 120 tons of mortar rounds and three tons of explosives in
secret depots in east Mostar.
An investigation, carried out in SFOR's presence, revealed a cache
containing 328 grenades, 168 anti-personnel mines, 80 fuses for
anti-personnel mines, 120 rifle grenades, 12 anti-tank mines with
fuses, and two boxes full of additional grenade charges, the
statement said.
Police have mounted an intensive search for a person or persons
responsible for the illegal purchase and storage of the weapons.
