The Croatian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Drago Lovric, who was President Ivo Josipovic's envoy, said that this brigade had a positive effect on the morale of all Croatian troops engaged in the liberation of Knin in 1995.
He thanked the Fourth Guards Brigade members for "the immeasurable contribution to the implementation of the legal and legitimate Operation Storm".
Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor's envoy at the ceremony, the minister for war veterans' affairs, Tomislav Ivic, said that one of the brightest periods of this brigade was its participation in Operation Storm.
Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic said that the Fourth Guards Brigade had set en example for patriotism and for how the homeland was defended.
