Italian authorities possess no proof that could confirm the article
of the daily, the diplomat said.
According to the Corriere della Sera, the American CIA has informed
countries-allies about possible terrorist attacks, and the Italian
counter-intelligence department is studying data from a report
made by the CIA.
"A plan of terrorists includes the hijacking of an aircraft at a
Croatian airport so as to use it for similar purposes as in the 11
September attack, against American objects in the region.
Terrorists would hold Italian passports in order to enter the
country," an Italian reporter quoted alleged excerpts from the CIA
report.
