The head of the Macedonian delegation, Aleksandar Tavciovski, read
out a joint statement of the five countries expressing satisfaction
with "the positive trend initiated by Greece."
"Regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations have proved
important to our countries on their path of integration into EU
structures," Tavciovski said.
The Macedonian representative said that the countries in the region
supported the efforts of Croatia, which was the first of them to
file an application for EU membership. He announced that Macedonia
might follow suit.
