Washington-Ljubljana relations are excellent, and the bilateral
treaty on the non-extradition of U.S. citizens to The Hague-based
ICC is just one bilateral issue, Jones told the press.
The United States respects the decisions of Slovenia and other
states which acceded to the Rome Statute, based on which the ICC was
set up, but it expects the U.S. decision not to accede to the court
will be respected likewise, she said.
Foreign ministry representatives acquainted Jones with Slovenia's
engagement in South Eastern Europe, stressing their special
support to Croatia's application for European Union membership.
