Pope John Paul II's recent visit to the country.
ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - On the occasion of Statehood Day, Croatian
Interior Minister Sime Lucin on Monday commended and rewarded a
ministry department and four county police departments for the
organisation of and security during Pope John Paul II's recent
visit to the country. #L#
Lucin said that security during the pope's visit was at a high
level, which was confirmed by the foreign media and the Vatican
officials.
The minister commended the police departments of Primorje-Gorski
Kotar, Osijek-Baranja, Dubrovnik-Neretva and Zadar counties and
the Interior Ministry's department for the protection of persons.
He also commended the Zagreb police department for the organisation
of a conference of police chiefs from European capitals in Zagreb.
