The Pontiff reiterated his call for forgiveness and brotherhood in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, adding this should be the foundation of a new
society which was being built after the tragic war in the country.
The pope said he was joyous because he could share with the many
faithful an important moment of the Eucharist celebration during
which he beatified Catholic layman Ivan Merz.
The Holy Father especially greeted pilgrims from other countries
who arrived in Banja Luka today, including many from Croatia.
At the end of the Mass, the pope left for the Bishops' Hall in Banja
Luka for lunch with Bosnian bishops and cardinals from his
entourage.
