Javier Solana, said in Belgrade on Friday morning.

Salonika is of crucial importance for Serbia-Montenegro and other
countries in the region, the EU High Representative for the Common
Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, said in Belgrade on

The Union has two goals, namely to see that countries in the region
are coming closer to the EU and that they are leading dialogues with
each other, Solana said after meeting Serbia-Montenegro's
President, Svetozar Marovic.
Later in the day, Solana is to hold talks with other top officials
and leading politicians in Belgrade.
The EU representative arrived in Belgrade from Skopje on Thursday
evening when he had a working dinner with the foreign minister of
Serbia-Montenegro, Goran Svilanovic, and Serbia's Vice Premier,
Zarko Korac.
On Friday afternoon he will depart for Podgorica.
