ZAGREB, June 4 (Hina) - The Austrian telecommunications company 'Mobilkom Austria' increased its ownership share in Zagreb's VIPnet company from 80 to 99 percent taking over 19 percent of the ownership share previously held by Western
Wireless International (based in Seattle), VIPnet reported on Wednesday.

'Mobilkom Austria' increased its ownership share in Zagreb's
VIPnet company from 80 to 99 percent taking over 19 percent of the
ownership share previously held by Western Wireless International
(based in Seattle), VIPnet reported on Wednesday. #L#
Zagreb's Vecernji list d.d. retained 1 percent of its share in
VIPnet. VIPnet reported that Western Wireless International sold
its share in the company due to strategic plans for the next
quarter.
VIPnet, a mobile operator and the Internet provider, last year
realised an increase in sales by 31.4 percent totalling EUR303.5
million while its net profit increased by 53.9 percent to EUR56.8
million. The company ended 2002 with 1.1 million users which was a
28 percent increase compared to 2001 or 242,000 new users.
VIPnet is a member of the 'Mobilkom Austria Group' which consists of
the Austrian mobile telephone operator company, the Slovene
si.mobil and Liechtenstein's 'mobilkom'.
