ZAGREB, May 22 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday
relieved of duty Buffer Stocks manager Srecko Kramaric for
exceeding his authority, Vice-Premier Slavko Linic confirmed to

"At this moment, this is a case of overstepping one's authority, not
an economic crime," Linic told reporters after a closed-door
session of the government.
Kramaric was relieved of duty because the Internal Control Office
established that he had overstepped his authority, i.e. invited
bids for the replacement of old wheat stocks with new ones and
selected companies without having had the required documents - the
balance and the annual programme which are approved by the
government, Linic said.
The government today discussed a report by the Internal Control
Office on the matter. It also partially discussed the report of the
State Inspectorate, but it did not discuss the report of the Economy
Ministry as it has not been submitted yet. The government cannot
make a final decision without those documents, Linic said.
