During the hour-long conversation, Picula extended his condolences
for all those who had died from Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
(SARS). He offered Croatia's help in fighting the disease by
delivering antibiotics and sending a group of epidemiologists as
part of a World Health Organisation programme.
There are no open issues between Croatia and China. The two
countries have possibilities to further promote cooperation in
many areas, Picula concluded.
Li Zhaoxing informed the Croatian minister in detail about China-
U.S.-Korea talks and the involvement of the People's Republic of
China in alleviating the dangers of atomic weapons.
The Chinese minister said that both countries bore significant
responsibility for stability in their respective regions. He
applauded Croatia on its success in the further process of
approaching the European Union.
