The books were published with the financial assistance of the
culture and science ministries.
Culture Minister Antun Vujic said the books described shocking
experiences and were written carefully "in order to avoid any
misinterpretation of what really happened here." Vujic said that
his ministry earmarked three million kuna from this year's budget
for various activities of the Jasenovac Memorial Museum.
The presentation of the two books was attended by Croatian
President Stjepan Mesic, former inmates, and numerous other
visitors.
