The government is considering a set of measures, Racan said after a
closed-door meeting of government ministers, adding that he would
visit the drought-hit areas.
Almost half Croatia's 22 counties, primarily those to the east and
in the north-west, have been declared disaster areas.
Varazdin County prefect Zvonimir Sabati today declared his county a
disaster area. Damage caused by the drought to crops is estimated at
some 60 million kuna and 30-60% of all crops have been destroyed.
If there is no rain in the next ten days, the crops will be
completely destroyed, he said.
