PRISTINA, Apr 30 (Hina) - In a letter to U.N. civil administrator in
Kosovo Michael Steiner, Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi has
requested the extension of the government's authorities, the press
in the province said on Wednesday. #L#
Rexhepi has requested that the ministries of energy, justice,
defence, the interior, and foreign affairs be put under the
government's control. He also expects a senior council to be set up
to deal with security and the adoption of legislation on the
management of telecommunications revenue.
Steiner has announced that by the end of the year the United Nations
mission will gradually transfer onto Kosovo institutions
authorities envisaged by the province's constitutional framework
and Security Council Resolution 1244.
Kosovo's Serbs and the official Belgrade resolutely oppose the
transfer of authorities onto Kosovo institutions.
