The retired Croatian army general, against whom the UN war crimes
tribunal issued an indictment but decided to withdraw a warrant for
his arrest due to his condition, was released from hospital and sent
to home care contrary to the advice of his doctors who believe that
Bobetko's serious condition cannot be properly treated at home.
"In the past several days the patient's condition has significantly
deteriorated and his current therapy was adjusted to that," the
statement said.
The head of Bobetko's doctors' team, Mijo Bergovac, did not wish to
publicly state the reasons due to which Bobetko's family requested
his release from hospital and reiterated that the doctors opinion
was that the proper medical treatment cannot be provided at home.
