The decision on introducing urgent measures is based on UN Security
Council Resolution 1244 and Kosovo's constitution. As of today,
power will be imported to cover the needs of industry and
households, Steiner said at a press conference in Pristina.
He added that the emergency funds he managed would be used to
normalise the situation.
The problems with power supply and constant reductions are a result
of power plants having fallen into disrepair. Another major problem
are unpaid power bills.
