passed a law on personal protection defining situations when a
security guard is allowed to use short-barrel weapons (pistol).

A security guard can carry a weapon only when he/she is safeguarding
financial institutions (banks, exchange offices etc.), depots with
radioactive waste and hazardous materials and facilities of
special importance for the country's defence or is escorting
vehicles transporting money and other valuables or working as a
bodyguard.
A security guard can use a weapon only when he/she has to avert an
attack on him/herself or the person under protection and before
using the weapon he/she must give two verbal warnings.
This regulation does not apply if the lives of the security guard or
the person he/she is protecting are at risk.
