KARLOVACKA PIVOVARA KARLOVAC, April 1 (Hina) - The Dutch company Heineken has bought 69.8% of shares of the Karlovacka pivovara brewery from Luksic Group, i.e. its Southern Breweries Establishment company.

69.8% of shares of the Karlovacka pivovara brewery from Luksic

The value of the transaction is 1,804.59 kuna (234.61 euros) per
share, the company said in a statement.
Ton J. M. Bluem, who over the last twenty years has headed
Heineken's breweries all around the world, has been appointed
transitional manager of the Karlovac brewery.
The company has also stated that in due time it will submit an offer
for the purchase of the remaining 31.2% of shares which are owned by
other shareholders, in line with Croatian legislation, under which
the invitation of bids for remaining company shares is obligatory.
The Karlovacka pivovara brewery is Croatia's second biggest
brewery, with a market share of 19%. Its 2002 sales amounted to
820,000 hectolitres.
The company has 351,760 shares.
