A spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on
Friday said that in the last two weeks eight people were killed and
one was wounded in a series of incidents throughout Bosnia,
involving returnees as victims.
Since the conclusion of the 1995 Dayton peace accords, almost one
million Bosnians have returned to their homes or a half of those who
fled during the war conflict in early 1990s.
The spokesman Rupert Colville said that more than 390,000 of
returnees had come back to areas which were now controlled by their
former rivals.
The latest wave of killings was the worst outburst in the few past
years.
