become a prosperous country, it was said during Friday's meeting of
an international club of Croatian emigrants and returnees and
investors in the diaspora in Zagreb. #L#
The co-ordinator of the diaspora club, Niko Soljak, said emigrants
were a potential who should be involved in solving the present
crisis in Croatia.
"The diaspora has the knowledge, will and ability to become engaged
in solving problems, but nobody is even trying to establish contact
with it," he said at the meeting.
Soljak warned that emigrants were still being avoided in the
process of privatisation "as if it is better to have a foreign owner
as an employer rather than a fellow citizen".
