UNITED NATIONS, Feb 8 (Hina) - Voting was completed late on Friday for judges to the first permanent global criminal court -- the International Criminal Court to be set up in the Netherlands, bringing the number of international judges to 18. #L# The first seven judges of the new permanent International Criminal Court (ICC) were elected on Tuesday at the United Nation's headquarters in New York. Croatian candidate Ivo Josipovic, a university professor and expert on criminal procedural and international procedural law, did not make it by the narrowest margin. One hundred and thirty-nine nations have signed and 88 countries have ratified the treaty creating the tribunal, but only the 85 nations that ratified the treaty by Dec. 2 were eligible to vote in this week's elections. They elected 11 men and seven women to serve on the new tribunal. (hina) it
