KARLOVAC, Dec 27 (Hina) - The presidential candidate of the ruling
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Jadranka Kosor, on Monday stopped in the city
of Karlovac (some 50 kilometres south of Zagreb ) and nearby towns of
Jastrebarsko, Krasic, Delnice, Vrbovsko and Ogulin, during her campaign trail
before the elections set for 2 January.Speaking at a rally in Karlovac, she reiterated that she believed that
the Druzba Adria project on integrating oil pipelines from Russia through
several European countries to Croatia's Adriatic coast was harmful and
hazardous for Croatia. She said that the first move she was planning to do if
she won the presidential polls would be to ask the government to terminate the
agreement on that project.
She added that her second move would be to cut the spending of the
Office of the President.
She said she would especially fight for Croatian war veterans, the
jobless and women.
Kosor again criticised President Stjepan Mesic for what she said were
insults made by him against her.
