Petrak told a press conference that he based his optimism on a poll conducted by the HPS on 2,000 people, according to which he enjoys the support of 62.2 percent of voters, and on the fact that the two "favoured candidates are behaving in a very arrogant and thrifty manner," which he said alienated the electorate.
Petrak accused the media of ignoring the less known presidential candidates.
He said that if elected president he would initiate the introduction of a presidential system, that he would attend Government sessions and reintroduce a bicameral Parliament, that he would launch inter-university cooperation and the development of science in the region, and that he would work on strengthening the police to combat corruption and crime.
Petrak concluded by saying that Croatia needed a strong army, but one without too much heavy weaponry.
His slogan is "For the People, for Man and for Croatia".
