VODICE, Dec 5 (Hina) - Gastronomy Week, organised by the Guild of
Restaurant Owners and Tourism Workers of Sibenik-Knin County, ended at the
Imperijal Hotel in the central Adriatic resort town of Vodice on Saturday
evening with the preparation of a huge meal of seafood risotto.More than 350 kilograms of ingredients were used in preparing the dish
in a cooking pan three metres in diameter. Restaurant owners in the Sibenik
area believe it to be the largest seafood risotto ever made in Croatia.
The purpose of this traditional event is to put original Dalmatian
dishes back on restaurant menus. Every day over the past week, 30 restaurants
and taverns in the Sibenik area offered three original Dalmatian dishes at a
price of 40 kuna (approximately five euros) each, along with local wines.
