Match Telekom is a Croatian-French company based in Croatia, Tele2 is a Croatian-Swedish company, and Croatia Mobile is owned by Mislav Sutalo.
The Telecommunications Agency Council established that all bids were valid and that they would be considered.
All three companies have applied for a combined operating licence of the second and third mobile telephony generations (GSM/DCS-1800/UMTS), whose price for the first year of operation is 172 million kuna.
An assistant to the Minister of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development in charge of telecommunications, Darko Dvornik, said on Friday that the fact that all three bidders had applied for the combined concession meant that they wanted to offer Croatian citizens services of the third mobile telephony generation.
Since bids were invited for three operating licences - one of the second and third generation each (GSM/DCS-1800 and UMTS) and one combined (GSM/UMTS) - and all bidders applied for the latter, the remaining operating licences may again be offered in the market if the Agency's Council decides that there is sufficient interest, Dvornik said.
