Sanader also expressed satisfaction with today's decision of the appeals chamber to release Bosnian Croat Mario Cerkez.
Cerkez was detained in The Hague in 1997 and was sentenced in 2001 to 15 years in prison pending appeal.
Commenting on the decisions, the PM said that it was good news.
"This is, no doubt, part of a general atmosphere that we have created in Croatia, it reflects the good quality of our cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague," Sanader told reporters in the parliament.
The PM believes that the decisions would also have an effect on the case of General Ante Gotovina.
"I am confident that General Gotovina, whose contribution is unquestionable, must face the charges before the tribunal and must shed light on and defend his role in the Homeland War. I appeal to him to do so," Sanader said.
