OTTAWA MEETING OF METEOROLOGISTSOTTAWA, Dec 1 (Hina) - Meteorologists from 47 countries, includingCroatia, participated in a meeting of the Group on Earth Observation(GEO) in Ottawa on 29 and 30 November. The event was dedicated to theestablishment of a global system of observation of the atmosphere,ocean and land.
OTTAWA, Dec 1 (Hina) - Meteorologists from 47 countries, including Croatia, participated in a meeting of the Group on Earth Observation (GEO) in Ottawa on 29 and 30 November. The event was dedicated to the establishment of a global system of observation of the atmosphere, ocean and land.

The main purpose of this intergovernmental group is to create conditions for the establishment of a global system of observation of the atmosphere, ocean and land (GEOSS).

The meeting confirmed Croatia as a full GEO member.

Participants in the meeting also confirmed a 10-year plan of GEOSS implementation and prepared documents for the founding ministerial meeting to be held at the third Earth Observation Summit.
