In the forthcoming years the CEI must establish a strong partnership that will include governments, parliaments, business people, regional organisations and civil organisations to the benefit of the entire region, CEI prime ministers said in a final document following a plenary session in the Slovene coastal resort town of Portoroz on Friday.
The statement said that this 15-year-old regional initiative could be a catalyst for growth and development and that it could assist in the faster and full integration of all participating countries into European structures.
The session was dominated by the unstable situation in Ukraine, with prime ministers expressing their concern and calling on all parties to exercise restraint.
The meeting marked the end of Slovenia's presidency of the CEI.
