The Democratic Party of Hashim Thaqi emerged as the second strongest, capturing 27 per cent of the vote, and was followed by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo led by Ramuss Haradinaj, which garnered eight per cent.
The civil initiative Ora, headed by Veton Surroi, won six per cent, the Albanian Christian Democratic Party of Kosovo, led by Mark Krasniqi, won 1.8 per cent, while the remaining contestants won 10 percent altogether.
Human Rights Committee spokesman Ibrahim Makoli said at a press conference after midnight that the ballots from 17 per cent of the polling stations had been counted.
Makoli said that turnout was about 53 per cent.
