During his visit to California last week, Jurica met Congressmen George Radanovich and Dan Rohrbacher, the Croatian Embassy in the United States said in a statement on Wednesday. Jurica and the U.S. officials talked about the establishment of a Croatian club in the U.S. congress which would promote Croatia's interests and advance U.S.-Croatian cooperation.
Ambassador Jurica also visited Croatian Americans in San Francisco, San Pedro and San Jose.
At the beginning of his Californian tour, Jurica met Heidi Khun, the president of the Roots of Peace humanitarian organisation which financially help mine removal projects in several villages in Croatia.
In Seattle Jurica attended the ceremony marking Croatian Independence Day and held talks with politicians of the state of Washington. State Secretary Sam Reed presented him with the awards of an honorary citizen of Washington state.
