The event, which opens on Sunday, will pool eminent figures from politics, culture, the economy, and civil society from Italy and the world. The organiser is the Pio Manzu Centre, in cooperation with the United Nations, the European Union, the Italian Presidency and Government.
Tomorrow, Mesic will be presented with the Italian Presidency's Gold Medal, which has been bestowed on him by the Pio Manzu Centre for his outstanding contribution to Croatia's EU integration process and the establishment of reconciliation, tolerance, and coexistence among the peoples of Southeast Europe.
Upon arriving in Rimini, Mesic met Libyan Prime Minister Shukri Mohammad Ghanem.
The Rimini conference is Mesic's first stop on a three-day visit to Italy. On Monday, he will visit San Marino.
