Voting was prolonged at some stations due to technical difficulties because of which these stations were opened late.
The president of the State Election Commission, Vehid Sehic, said the voting had proceeded without any serious difficulties which might bring the regularity of the ballot in question.
According to the commission, public peace and order were disturbed in Citluk, Capljina, Ljubuski, Siroki Brijeg and Bratunac, requiring police intervention.
The turnout by 1600 hours was nearly 35 percent, while the final voter turnout is expected to be between 40 and 45 percent, said State Election Commission member Lidija Korac.
The first preliminary results are expected around midnight.
