Talking to Hina, Kramaric said the majority of the Main Committee members decided the new party's name should retain a liberal component also symbolically.
In a press release, the LS said it was in favour of associating with Libra and the HNS on an equal basis into a new party which would be liberal in orientation, have a harmonised common programme and statute, and have a new name and symbols.
The three parties' leaders discussed the possibility of unification on September 17, and decided the parties' bodies should consider the modalities of unification and present their views at a meeting on October 4.
Commenting on today's call by Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) leaders on former members, particularly those now in the LS, to rejoin the HSLS, Kramaric said the invitation should be considered since the process of party unification was still open. He added, however, the key problem lies in the fact that the HSLS is partner to the ruling Croatian Democratic Union while the LS is in the opposition.
