Croatia ratified the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) in 2001, thus supporting its coming into force.
Hoffmann asked Biscevic that Croatia encourage other countries in the region to ratify the CTBT.
He also offered assistance to Croatia in setting up a national data base centre which would use information of the CTBTO international data base system, the statement said.
Biscevic informed Hoffman that Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul supported the CTBT at a ministerial meeting held at the U.N. headquarters in New York five days ago.
Croatia is prepared to use its influence and friendly relations to encourage the treaty's ratification in neighbouring countries, Biscevic said.
He stressed Croatia was interested in the opening of the national data base centre and was considering the CTBTO's proposal regarding a field exercise to be held in Croatia in 2006, the ministry said in the statement.
