Seks said that Croatia's aspirations for membership of the European Union and NATO would not represent an obstacle to further promotion of the otherwise good political and economic relations with China.
The Chinese ambassador thanked Croatia for its support to the policy of unification of China, stressing the importance of the principle of independence and territorial integrity, the parliament president's public relations office said in a statement.
Wu said that intensifying relations with the European Union was one of China's most important foreign policy goals and expressed support for Croatia's effort to join the bloc. He added that this would create a new area for further successful development of relations between China and Croatia.
Seks wished his guest a lot of success in his work and asked him to convey his invitation to the chairman of the Chinese People's Congress to pay a reciprocal visit to Croatia, the statement said.
