ZAGREB, Sept 14 (Hina) - Croatian Agriculture, Forestry and Water
Management Minister Petar Cobankovic opened the 2nd show of rural products and
services "Eko-etno" as part of the 80th International Autumn Zagreb Fair which
opened on Tuesday.Cobankovic said that rural areas were part of Croatia's most valuable
resources, accounting for almost 90 percent of its area, with farmland
accounting for 57 percent and forests for 36 percent of the area.
It is estimated that some 500,000 people live on farms and that some 10
percent of the working-age population earn their income from farming,
Cobankovic said.
