The two officials discussed a planned visit by a Croatian economic delegation to Tehran at the beginning of October and ways of promoting economic relations between the two countries, expressing hope that Croatian and Iranian companies would establish closer ties, the Croatian ministry said in a statement.
Khosrowtaj said that Iranian business people were interested in the textile industry and the production of building material and PVC packaging, and announced that a group of Iranian business people from these sectors would visit the International Autumn Trade Fair in Zagreb, which opens on Tuesday.
Both sides stressed the need to encourage the development of higher forms of economic cooperation, such as joint ventures and the transfer of technology and know-how.
Trade between Croatia and Iran totalled a mere 6.8 million US dollars in 2003.
