Other members of the negotiating team will be appointed in the next few weeks, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said.
He stressed that negotiations would be conducted by experts while politics would be of secondary importance.
In order to achieve the best possible results for Croatia, Sanader called on political parties, non-party officials, trade unions and the association of employers to make themselves available to the negotiating team.
The success of the negotiations will depend on the selection of competent negotiators, Zuzul said.
At today's session the government also decided to draw up a national programme on association with the EU for 2005. The final draft of this document should be discussed by the government in early December.
