The ceremony was held in a votive chapel of the Croatian parliament.
Ludberg is a place of absolution, famous for a miraculous event which occurred in 1411, when a chalice used in the ceremony of transubstantiation of bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ turned out to contain liquid actually resembling blood.
In 1994, the Croatian parliament kept its vow given in 1793 to protect the nation from plague, and had a chapel built in Ludbreg.
Participants in the ceremony were also addressed by Parliament President Vladimir Seks.
